You did soo many things wrong to get that 980. First of all, you went AMD for the CPU which is a complete mistake as AMD makes crap processors for gaming. Secondly, you went with a 750W CX PSU which has horrible capacitators. As soon as it shorts(which will be as soon as you get it) it will also short the CPU, GPU, and mobo which will waste the entire reason you got such a horrible PSU in the first place.

When talking about H97 mobos, there is no difference between them. Also, a 980 might not be supported on the H97 mobos, but I might be wrong.
