My mobo(gigabyte H61m-ds2) supports 1333 mhz ram. I already have a Transcend DDR3-1333 4 GB RAM (JM1333KLN-4G) and i was thinking of getting another 4gb. I want to know if Corsair XMS3 DDR3 4 GB Desktop RAM (CMX4GX3M1A1333C9) is compatible with my old one. The corsair one describes it as single channel memory would it effect on having two rams. I want to know if both rams are compatible with each other, if there are other better options please suggest.

Solution
both ram are the same speed (1333 and cl:9). both should work in the same mb. the issue is sometime mixing rams will case blue screen errors or lock ups or sometimes no posts. your always better to buy the same memory that in the pc now so you know that they will work together.

only 4.00 more then the ram you posted.

Any time you mix sets of DRAM, even the same exact model it can be and often is problematic...Best to buy a set of the full amount you want, if you have to mix and do run into problems, give me a shout, can often get them to play nice with minor voltage/timing adjustments
