Hello everyone.

Have I just finished my new rig (Gigabyte Gaming GT and i7-4790K)

The problem is that when I check in the BIOS the CPU is set to 4.4 GHZ, 1.356 volt and running at 59-60 degrees Celsius. I got suspicious while gaming because the CPU fan (Intel stock) got insanely noisy. I then opened my hardware monitor and sure enough, 3200 RPM and 82 degrees Celsius. I haven't tweaked any settings. I just installed windows and drivers yesterday.

If anyone can help me fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You are overclocking on an Intel Stock?! That's why your chip is running hot because the voltage is higher than usual and you have overclocked it a little aswell, I would buy an aftermarket cooler like a hyper 212 evo since they are great bang for buck and deliver good performance

You must HALT now becuse you're doing it wrong !! You need an aftermarket cooler may be liquid ones and drop the voltage below 1.3V. Overheating and overvolting will reduce the life span of the component. You must keep the temps below 80'C atleast during heavy loads.

Start by reducing the multiplier to 40 and voltage to 1.2V and try tweaking from there on. Always keep your eyes on the temps. Run stability test and find a stable config and set everything there.
