The GTX 970 is available in the UK for as low as £260. I paid £270 for my Gigabyte GHz 7970 last year.

Considerig its performance in comparison to the 780ti which is twice as expensive, should I consider buying the 970 now? I have a feeling the price won't stay this way for long. Do you think the price will go up or down after a few months?

I was thinking of building a new PC based around silence and the 970, with Haswell/Broadwell and a 850 Pro SSD. Should I replace/sell my Ivy Bridge and other 2012 tech?. The Gigabyte card seem to sell for a reasonable amount

There's a good chance that the GTX 970 prices will be raised to around $400 due to extremely high demand. (Several models were sold out at Amazon and Newegg last night.) It's best to get one now while you can.

OK which one do you recommend? I saw an EVGA going for £265 but it's not in stock until Monday and the superclocked version is overdue.

Get the EVGA with an ACX 2.0 cooler.

I see now why it's cheap. They're using the ACX 1.0 cooler http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-evga-gtx-970-acx10-p...(x16)-7010mhz-gddr5-gpu-1050mhz-boost-1178mhz-cores-1664-dp-dvi-hdmi
IS the fan that much better than a blower? I care most about noise and, if it existed, I would take the metal titan cooler over any other.
