Hello tomshardwarers.

So here's the deal: I bought AMD FX-8350 with AM3+ support. This CPU is 4 ghz and has 8 cores. I replaced it with my older QuadCore AMD FX-4100. Upon start-up, PC leds went on and fans started spinning. However nothing came up on the monitor. Also the keyboard leds wouldn't work when trying caps lock etc. The BIOS version on my motherboard is 0602. I checked ASUS' helpdesk about CPU support, and discovered that FX-8350 IS compatible with M5A87. I also tried to perform a CMOS reset after changing CPU, but without results. I had thermal paste applied a proper amount, all the cables were properly attached. I then removed the CPU from the MB and realized it did not even heat up at all. FX-8350 consumes 125W and my MB supports 140W CPUs. I believe there is nothing wrong with wattage.

I'll state my PC specs again below;

OS: Win 7 64 bit.
MB: Asus M5A87 (3 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR3 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN)
Bios version: 0602
CPU: AMD FX-8350, AM3+, 4,0GHz, 8-core
Memory: Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9, 4 GB, DDR3, 2 sticks
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (2 GB)
Monitor: ViewSonic VG1921wm [19" LCD] (QAB064103392)

If I missed something important, please tell me. Any slighest help is appreciated!
