Ok i am putting a computer together for a friend and wonder if this pre-build i put together is decent enough and not too costly for him under 1000?

Intel Core i7-4790 Haswell Quad-Core 3.6GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 BX80646I74790 $310

MSI B85-G41 PC Mate LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX High Performance CF Intel Motherboard $80

Thermaltake SMART Series SP-650PCBUS 650W ATX 12V 2.3 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply $60

LITE-ON Black SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model iHDS118-04 - OEM $20

EVGA 04G-P4-2647-KR GeForce GT 640 4GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card $105

Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive $60

Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, comes with Three Fans-1x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1x Top 140mm ... $50

Apotop 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop MemoryModel U3A4Gx2-16C9BB $95

I will probably change out the ram for something that is a bit cheaper but still aiming for 2 sticks for 8GB total

Solution
It is NOT good for gaming. You need a proper dedicated GPU for that purpose.
The GT 640 just wont cut it. Budgetwise choices:
Sub 100$: r7 250x
100-150$:r7 265 or gtx 750 ti
150-200$: r9 270x
upto 250$: gtx 760
upto 350$: gtx 970

Solution
Rarely do you find a "prebuilt" system that is great for gaming out of the box, unless you are in the "ultra-high-end" (computers $2,000+). However, you can build an excellent gaming computer for about half that price - maybe slightly higher depending on the GPU you select. With parts you already have, it can decrease the cost of the build....
