My Compaq 2010 was hit by a power surge through telephone wires..due to lightening.
Everything works but the Ethernet port. Have a new modem from at&t which Tivo and two other computers connect to w out prob. but the Compaq...no. Since its an integrated Ethernet network on Compaq motherboard does that mean I need a new motherboard? There are no slots available to by-pass the damaged Ethernet port and plug in a new network card. Any help appreciated.
