EVGA Step Up program? How Does It Work? 780 6gb for 980 4gb?

I just bought a gtx 780 6gb on AMazon 2 weeks ago..
now nVidia have released the 980 yesterday, I was going to return it to Amazon and get the 980 and then I heard about the EVGA step-up program.

What is better?

I'm in Ireland and the 780 6gb I bought was actually 50 dollars more expensive than the 980.

As far as I know only one (new) game uses a 6Gb VRAM via an additional Texture pack.

I want to update my Graphics for Stereoscopic 3D gaming on an Asus 1080p but which to choose to compliment my i7 GTX 780 rig?

Go GTX 780 SLi (Because even Batman slows down to 10fps sometimes in Stereoscopic)... And WatchDogs in standard game on Ultra has had stutters (not so much after the more recent update)

Or Use my iChiLL GTX780 as PhysX and get a GTX980 with 4Gb VRAM?

Or get the Strix GTX780 6Gb ........... For the heavy Modded and high VRAM games etc.... (my 780 for PhysX again...)....

Will 4Gb be enough.... Cant SLi 4Gb VRAM.......

Or wait for NVidia 2015...... and tolerate.
