Hello I've been lurking this forum for a while now so this is my first post.

I'm looking for a power supply that's going to go well with this motherboard.

I actually built a machine 10 years ago, but I've forgotten a lot and I'm out of touch with the new stuff that's out now.

I'm seeing 750W ATX 12V V2.31 which I don't know what v2.31 means. I'm also seeing EPS12V 2.91 and some of the power supplies are saying that they are Haswell ready which doesn't apply to me since I'm using AMD. I also don't want a power supply that would be too much because I'm on a budget. Any help would be appreciated.

750w is overkill. Get a Corsair CS550M and you are good to go. Plus it is modular, hence easy to set-up and manage.

The website for the video card says that it requires 500W(with two 8-pin external power connectors)

The site for the power supply says that is comes with 4 x 6+2-Pin power cables. Is the 6+2 connector the same as the 8 pin power connector?

Website for the video card.

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, I'm just trying to learn for myself.
