Rather than hiding my ip address I want to be able to connect to a secure UK site from abroad which needs to to identify my fixed uk ip address as a sort of entry code to the site before I enter passwords etc. I know I can hide it easily via a proxy server but how do I actually broadcast it? It's so I can do work from abroad, update reports etc.

More about : access site fixed address country

I think that may be a security protocol, put in place by the network manager to ensure no one outside the country can connect; regardless of whether or not the individual is authorized. You should take it up with your network manager. No one here can assist in bypassing security protocols (against forum policy).

You can't unless you have lots and lots of money.

The ip you are using is used by the internet to find you. All the routers in the internet know which router they need to send to get the data to you. Eventually after passing through many routers you will get to the ISP you actually buy service from and their routers know which wire goes to your house.

To move your ip address you would have to pretty much update every router in the world. This is of course done all the time when a large company has some form of data center failure and their redundancy causes the network to change. It takes quite some time for this to make it all the way though the internet so it tends to be unstable for a number of minutes.

To reduce the load the ISP have agreed that you must move blocks of ip in groups of 256.

So your first task is to get a class C block of 256 IP. Then you need to get a AS number and then you need to get a ISP that has connection in lots of places so you can advertise your block of IP to them.

You have absolutely no chance of obtaining any of this even if you were a small business. It is not even a money thing you must prove you actually need that many ip addresses.

I had a feeling it would not be that easy. I can do it now but only by leaving the home server running and connecting to it via Team viewer and then the site in question recognises the ip address and allows access. However it is tediously slow.

In any event thanks for your thoughts.

You could run VPN to your home machine rather than teamviewer
