I use consoles for gaming mainly so I wouldn't be using a pc for games too much, but I take classes online for college so I'd like a decent pc rather than a laptop for it. If someone could put together a decent build for some games and using stuff like ms word and other typical work applications that includes monitor and keyboard that is around $1000 or even less that would be great.

I'd really prefer the build use the Thermaltake chaser A71 case and Corsair K70 RGB keyboard (I at least want to enjoy how it looks)

Awesome. How is the i3 dual core? I don't know too much about how all that works.
also kind of curious how difficult it is to upgrade a motherboard if I decided to start upgrading at all?

The b85 is still a good board and will last you a long time. Maybe 4-5 years and it's not hard to ipgrade at all. The dual is really powerful, I have the 4130 so it's a bit higher end than mine. If you feel like going to PC gaming down the line you could upgrade to an I5 4670 and get a gtx 980 down the line :)
