Hello!

It seems I have some problems with my USB ports.

The problem is when I use my USB flash drive, copying files from it seems to be working fine, but copying files on to it doesn't.

It will eventually copy the files to the stick, but it will take way too long, and completely stop at times.

I've tried formating the sticks to NTFS and FAT32, and have tried them on different computers. So the flash drives are definitely not faulty.

I ran a test of a drive on the laptop where the problems are occuring, and I got some errors. But then I used the same flash drive with the same software on a different computer, and there were no errors.

Is there anything that can be done here? The laptop is still under waranty, so I guess they'll fix it. It wasn't always like that, started happening recently.

laptop (where problems are occuring) : Samsung series 5 ; Windows 8.1

PC (where it works fine) : Windows XP

Thank you for any possible help !!!

Seems I kinda solved the problem. The new stick is 3.0, and I've only just now put it in 3.0 port, and it works great.

Other (2.0) drives in the 2.0 ports still cause the same problems as described in OP though.

Is it possible I somehow affected the USB 2.0 ports by inserting a USB 3.0 stick into them?

Because the problems seem to have started once I bought this new 3.0 flash drive.

Maybe that an update of drivers will help.
