Hello,
I have a good but not so new CPU Intel i7-2600k and I'm thinking about buying a GTX 980 (maybe a OC or SOC version like the Gigabyte G1), do you think my CPU will be a bottleneck?

I attach another question: using PCI-E 2.0 instead of 3.0 could be a big bottleneck too?

More about : gtx 980 2600k

No it wont bottleneck it, I7 2600K is a beast of a CPU. However using PCIe 2.0 might be a bottleneck.

First Question : as you said its not new but its strong enough to handle GTX 980 . Intel has the least problem with strong graphic cards and it will hardly ever bottleneck any single VGA or even Crossfire/Sli Systems . its not amd man :D

Second Questions : its not like having a weak cpu . it might be little slower than 3.0 but you might never notice that . Google about that . see what other people have experienced .

CPUs have gone thru several generations without having a large impact on GFX performance...... Bloomfield boxes are still out there doing quite well.

About PCI-E 2.0 vs 3.0, I've found this real test using a GTX Titan that says that there are close to nothing differences: http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Impact-of-PCI...
so I think that with a GTX 980 would be the same :)
