Hi all. Last Christmas I bought an acer predator. Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-AG3-605-UR24-Deskto...

I really like the CPU, i7 4770 is the bomb. Unfortunately with The gpu gt 640 at 1920 x 1080 while running more modern games like AC4 I have 9-20 fps. I decided I should get the gtx 760 evga sc w/ acx cooler 2gb. Here is a link:http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=1805&...

However, I soon learned that I would have to get another power supply to run it. And then I learned that the motherboard on the motherboard and psu both have 12 pin connectors, a scam by Acer. I am a novice in PC building, which is why I bought one instead of custom making one. There are several issues I have to meet. The most prominent one is that I need to get a new PSU. I don't know what to do with the whole 12 pin issue. I learned I could get an adapter to 24 pin, except I'm worried since they are third party. Is another plausible solution to get a new motherboard? If so, what are the compatibility issues that I could potentially meet? Other than that, what else should I check out about the graphics card? I know it has to have hdmi, and that it has tobe able to fit inside the case. My monitor has hdmi but I'm not sure how to check whether or not if it will fit. Also will the CPU be compatible with the gtx 760? What are some other things I have to worry about? Thanks so much for bearing with me and reading this all. I could go console, but I really do believe PC master race ftw! Thanks again <3

A GTX 760 is not good enough for Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag. I would know as even though it's an Nvidia-liscenced game, it runs absolutely awful; even on my own computer. I would recommend stepping up higher to at least a GTX 770 or 780 but even then it will be barely playable over 40fps.

Any card is compatible with your PC, but you'd need to get a new PSU as since it's a prebuilt, you probably got conned on your PSU. For a cheap replacement I'd recommend a PSU from somewhere along the lines of XFX's pro series or Seasonic's G series.
