I just inherited a 4GB RAM Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz desktop. It plays most games very well. However, my favorite game, The Old Republic, does not look good at all. The comp is 100% stock and I am mainly looking to increase the graphics, as the CPU speed seems quick enough to me. Is there any solutions to my graphics woes that are cheap (couple hundred dollars) ? Any info would be helpful/appreciated.

I can't tell from your description what GPU the PC has at the moment but I'll guess that it's an integrated Intel G4x from about 2008 on the basis of the CPU type.

Knights of the Old Republic (I had to Google "KoToR" :)) was released about 10 years ago according to the information I can find so I'd be surprised if it can't run adequately on one of these. If you've got a PCIe slot, any recent-ish GPU (even a $15 GeForce G210) will give the Intel graphics a sound whupping. How much you spend is up to you. You can pick up a GeForce GTX260 on eBay for under $100 - it's a few years old now but it's still a very capable card - I use one in my "away" PC at my parents' place. Or you can choose a current-generation card.

It's up to you whether...

It's up to you whether you go for a really cheap card or spend as much as you can afford with a view to keeping it to "get you started" if you replace the PC in a year or two.

Hope this helps a bit,
Stephen
