I have mounted a Gigabyte GT 730 (64 bit GDDR5) on my HP Pavilion P6
(http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay?javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.prp_ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c03058903-19%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.tpst=ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01&ac.admitted=1411243550606.876444892.492883150)
With the stock RAM the card worked (although at startup the screen was black for a loooong time before starting Win 7 64 bit)
I then installed an 8GB kit of Ballistix Sport RAM. Win 7 64 bit started but after 5 mins the screen froze. I changed the RAM to the old one and started up again with the Gigabyte card. No probs (although still slow upstart). I then updated the BIOS (hoping to be able to run with the Ballistix RAM) to the latest version and now I cannot start up with the Gigabyte card mounted in the machine...??? I now can run with the 8 GB memory kit without system halt, however, but this leaves me with the integrated Intel HD graphics (I already have gotten used to the HDMI on my screen via the Gigabyte card so I am not that happy about returning to the analogue signal...)
Is there any way that I can run with my Gigabyte card AND the RAM? Any help is much appreciated...

may be a dumb question but with the new gpu installed did the mb bios fall over to the onboard video port??? is there any output from it??? if there none with the card installed make sure the bios primary display set to peg/pci. if there a max video size setting in the bios try the lowest setting first then the highest setting sometime if the video ram size is set wrong in the bios these newer gpu wont post.

Hi Smorizio.
Thank You for taking time to help me out!
The PC ran fine with the Gigabyte card installed (although very slow at upstart with black screen). The motherboard cannot run on the analogue port when an external card is mounted. There is no output from it (just tried with both cards mounted).
The BIOS settings are very few and I cannot set video size etc. I can only enable or disable PCI Expr. 16 port (along with the other ports). I have enabled the port.
It is as if the PC (with the new BIOS update) will not recognize the card. After a long HP logo screen, startup ends with a black screen with a blinking cursor... (tried both analogue and HDMI - same result/no result)

Thanks, Smorizio!
I will have a look into things to see if the solution is an AMD card or a Gigabyte motherboard (I have found one at a very good price)
Tomorrow, I will erase all Geforce drivers and try a "clean install" of the card to see if that works... If not, I am going for the above.
Thank You for Your help!
