You mean the OEM logo in the system properties? That doesn't matter.

there is no easy way to fix it though? I just don't want this causing problems if I ever need to get support for my computer.

You can modify the registry keys inside hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/oeminformation

The logo should be placed in C:\Windows\System32\oem\logo.bmp
example C:\Windows\System32\OEM\Toshiba.bmp

Otherwise, a Windows reinstallation with the OEM disc that came with your purchase should fix it

If your computer is out of warranty (which I'm assuming it is), then your worry about "getting support" is for nothing, as you have no support for it in the first place.

The repair shop may have loaded a hacked copy of windows onto your machine.

Did it have all of the originalal toshiba software on it like when it was new?

ok i might try that change of logo idea. I don't know about the software. I think the repair shop did download a faulty copy bc my computer told me my copy of windows was not genuine so I just re-validated it. As long as this won't cause problems, I don't want to do any major reinstallations

is it possible that the repair shop just put a Dell hard drive into my Toshiba?

It shouldn't cause any problems.

"Did it have all of the originalal toshiba software on it like when it was new?"
This assumption means nothing, let's say you buy a new windows CD it'll come 100% clean and won't have any branding of any kind nor toshiba's software (toshiba or dell's software should come in a separate CD too).

If They didn't give you a serial number nor charged you for a windows oem copy there's also the possibility they installed a dell windows oem disc and didn't validate it expecting you would make your own installation with the toshiba CD or you'd validate it just as you did which is as feasible as they installed a shared (piracy?) version of windows that had been branded by dell already. If the case is the first you should not worry at all, if the case is the latter there's always the possibility it has malware/spyware which can be fixed by removing everything and doing a clean windows installation with toshiba's CD
