As you can see all new-gen games like Watch Dogs, Fifa 2015 and if it isn't realeased yet even GTA 5 and The Crew will run only on 64-bit processing units and of course that sucks X.X
I mean i can bet that 70% of the Gaming users around the whole planet use 32-bit systems just like i do and i hate when i watch the trailer of a game that blows my mind by it's awesomeness and when i check the description i see this : "Windows 7/8 64-bit" Even if i know that i won't find it, i'm still trying to find the "32-bit" in the description, just to calm me a bit.
I didn't make this thread to change anything in this world, i just want to know why do they have to make the best games run only on 64-bits OS and also i want to know your opinion about this...

Solution
Games requiring a 64-bit processor has nothing to do with the OS. It is strictly referring to the CPU instruction set which has been 64-bit since around 2003.

Not sure what the title has anything to do with... but,
The reason games are released for 64 bit and not 32 is hardware and software limitations. Just one example, many, if not all of those games, will end up having to use over 4GB of ram, which 32 bit systems cant support.

Running in a 64bit environment allows new games to use larger better textures, create bigger worlds, etc. Basically the stuff that is blowing your mind. The new consoles have 8GB of memory which means that they are now actively developing for a 64bit environment even for cross platform games. I think for them the introduction of the new consoles was the sign that it is time to move on. 64bit has been here for some time and it is time for gamers to move to a 64bit OS.

To me if you are still running 32bit I'd say you will need to take some of that money that you would use to buy these games and spend it on moving to 64bit. It is likely that if your computer is capable of playing these games that you have a 64bit CPU (They have been around since 2003 for AMD with the Athlon 64 and Intel with select models of the Prescott P4 in 2004/2005) you likely just need the OS to go with it.

My opinion on this is that these games should send a clear and strong message to those clinging on to their old, obsolete systems... upgrade! Seriously, we wouldn't have cars as we know them if the transportation industry was forced to accommodate horses forever. Why should computers be held back by cheap, reluctant users? I hope all games soon go 64-bit only.
