Hey guys! I am currently looking into building a new gaming pc and want to know if the gtx 770 dual ftw is better or worse then the new gtx 970 ftw? Their is about a 50$ price difference so this would be a great benefit if the 970 would work! So which one is better? Please help!

970 easily. The only reason to get a 770 over a 970 at this point is if you're in a country or situation in which you have no option.

Do buy from a retailer like Newegg - you may very well get it for even less dough.

The EVGA GTX 970 FTW will probably outperform the base GTX 980 for most things and it is way faster than any of the 770's and most of the 780's.

The main problem right now with the 970 FTW is getting one, it is going to be a very hot seller and currently no one shows them as being actually in stock.

One of the main improvements was the use of four (or 5) heatpipes (depending on who is reporting) instead of the 3 heat pipes on the other 970's.

The heat dissipation by early reports is considerably better on the FTW and it runs cooler as well as allowing it to go faster.

From the reviews, it looks like a base 980 is frequently about 10% faster than a base 970, but with the 970 FTW's base clock of 1216mhz versus the base clock of the base 980's of 1126, there will be hardly any difference for most things and about $180.00 cheaper.

I have 2x970 MSI Gaming...do you think it will be worth it to return these and go with the EVGA FTW? I wanted EVGA but after the heatpipe issues on the other models I held off...now after I saw they fixed it with the FTW version I'd rather get EVGA again...but idk...I should be able to return these cards within 30 days to newegg due to newegg premier :)
