Hi guys

I have a question here and the reason why am asking cuz I need to build a system for my brother and he's on a tight budget and somewhere I heard that AMD A10 7850k doesn't require any graphics card to play modern games on highest settings. Games such as Battlefield 4, Farcry 3, Watch dogs etc etc.

If that's correct then please confirm so that we can buy it for him asap. I might even think of buying it for myself.

Let's say $100-150 USD

Well, it would have been good to know that you already had a CPU. Why in the heck are you even considering an APU if you already have a CPU? It's a waste of money. For the same price, get a GTX 750 Ti or R7 260X.

Does it mean if I buy an APU then would not perform or would be able to keep up with an extended/another gpu?

Your logic doesn't make any sense.

You already have an $90 CPU.

The APU is a $100 CPU and a $60 GPU.

Use your CPU that you already have, and spend all $150 on a sweet graphics card like the R9 270 or GTX 750 Ti, which will give you graphics performance miles beyond the A10-7850K

Thanks for letting me know :D

I am actually new to this APU thing and needed a clarification hence It came up just like that.

One last question can't we have a gpu sticked up together with an APU?

Yes, but it is a waste of money. The APU costs $170, and AMD makes the same CPU, the Athlon X4 860K for $90; which is exactly the same but without the graphics portion from the 7850K.

Given that you already have an FX-4100, give me your budget and we can find you a good graphics card.
