Here's my best shot. I didn't know if you were planning on overclocking or not so I erred on the side that you will, either now or in the future. If you won't be let me know and I can save you some money. You've got maybe the fastest OC'ing Z97 mobo availale, and incredible GPU, a great case and PSU, and a CPU that is as good as anyone needs for modern gaming. I'm honestly not sure this can be improved upon without an SSD, and in your budget it's just not worth it. Hope this helps!

First thing I need to ask is if you are open to overclocking, that's a decision you need to make.

Our two builds are similar in a lot of ways, for example both of them are designed for overclocking. Here are some differences.

You only need a CPU cooler if you are overclocking. The CPU that he and I both picked can run hot, and my cooler is a much higher quality cooler which you will need if you OC. Our motherboards are pretty comparable, but mine will be faster if you OC, and Gigabyte is a more respected brand overall than ASRock. He got you a solid state drive (SSD), which is a big improvement on loading times for games and for booting your PC up, but because of that had to go with a slower graphics card. The 970 is much faster than his 270 and it's cheaper too. His PSU is a little lower in quality than mine and it's also overkill, you don't need more than 600W at most on this kind of build. Lastly mine includes an optical drive, his does not

If you will not overclock I can get you an SSD without a problem, and keep the high quality components selected.

Overclocking with an Asus or Gigabyte board is pretty easy, there is software that comes with the board that will do it for you. Gigabyte's is called EasyTune and you get a performance boost out of your CPU by probably around an additional GHz to the clock speed. This set up will run Skyrim like a top without any problems. If you think you just won't be comfortable OC'ing then let me know and I can make adjustments to the build.

Okay, here's the non-OC build. I took out the CPU cooler, got you a great mobo at a cheaper price, and put in an SSD. You can store all of your games on there where they will be much faster. You've got a very reliable Western Digital HDD that has a five-year warranty and is faster than the previous HDD as well. You are still way under 900 and have got a terrific gaming rig!
