gtx 760 vs r9 280x

what is the best gpu for the money?

gtx 760 for $188 or 280x for $240?

will i be able to play most games on gtx 760 at high setting with maybe ultra graphic?

The 280x is a bit better per http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1038?vs=1041

which is probably why it costs a bit more.

G'day mate.

They are both good cards however i7Baby is right that the 280/280x is, technically, the better card. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) current games are showing a trend of keeping up with and sometimes even outpacing the consumer grade gaming components. What this means for you is that you will be able to play some games quite well on med/high settings at 1080p or even 1440p you will probably not be using those ultra detail settings or FXAA etc on the most recent releases.

Good cards though.
