Hi

I have 2 old desktop machines. Both have DDR2 RAM. I only use one of these computers so I though I would take the memory out of one and put it in the other.

It fitted in but the computer would not boot....

The computer which original had 2 X 1 gig, I added 1 gig and a 2 gig stick into.

1 gig
1 gig
1 gig
2 gigs

Thank You.

Try going in w/ the original DRAM and raise the DRAM voltage + 0.10 if no joy with that let me know the mobo and CPU models

Sorry about the late reply.. IM not too sure how to increase the voltage. Although I would bet it in the BIOS. Not too sure I want to do that..

My Computer is a Dell Inc. OptiPlex 755 Board: Dell Inc. 0PU052 the processor is the E8400.

I run the CrucialScan as well as the Belarc adviser. Thats how I found out what MB I have. So you have helped me..

Thx

That's a prebuild, so prob can't adjust voltages anyway :(  Could check if any BIOS updates which could help w/ DRAM

Thx Tradesman1. I do appreciate your time and help. I'm in New Zealand and my research has lead me to http://www.upgradeable.co.nz/index.html and they have the very RAM that will fit my computer. Im too scarred to try to put the memory from the old computer into my reliable OptiPlex. But I am glad to have reestablished my presents in the tomshardware forums.

thank you
