R9 290 or GTX 970 for triple monitor pc

I had my heart set on the Sapphire vapor x r9 290.. Then nvidia released the 970. I am not sure if I which I should get. I have a tri monitor setup at 5760x1080 and I game, edit videos and photos. I currently have a radeon 6870 so it will be a considerable upgrade. Please help

I used anandtech to compares the GPUs. They go blow-for-blow on many things.

I ended up going with r9 290s in Crossfire. I got them used for $180 each.

I get 60 FPS avg on ESO and SWTOR. And like 100 FPS on Skyrim (vanilla) using 5760x1080p. All maxed out settings

R9 290s will need at least 850 power supply. But you should use a power supply calculator to really figure what is minmium for your setup. If you dont fee like it, 1000 watts psu is the way to go.

GTX 970 are great buy for my setup and given opportunities I went with r9 290.

Bottomline. Do your research for your setup. Not what anyone else wants for their setup.
