I use my PC connected to the modem and the other PCs and devices are connected through the router, this is all wired too, with only a few on WiFi. I want to do things like Steam in home streaming and media streaming. How can I have the router do everything on the same internal IP as the modem so that all devices are connected together?

You should have the router connected to the modem and everything connected to the router, and the router will be what takes on the WAN IP address.

Your router will separate the network traffic unless it is setup as an access point only (in this case, the modem will assign the DHCP settings and the router is more like a switch with wireless capabilities).

Do you know how to set up a Netgear WNR1000v3 as an access point only?
