Ok. So I'm getting a 250GB Samsung SSD and a 1TB WD Black HDD. I was going to use the SSD for installing my OS and using it as a boot-up drive. What I was wondering was is it possible to download something like Pro Tools, Sony Vegas Pro or FL studio on SSD so it can bootup or load faster, but all the games I save goes onto the HDD? Reason I ask is because Pro tool and FLStudio have a lot of storage because it loads up its software and also the samples and plug-ins.

Question: Can I install my program files into an SSD to bootup/load faster but save all of my projects and pointless stuff into my HDD?

250GB should be plenty of room to install quite a few programs - on my wife's computer I have Windows 7, Adobe CS6 Master Collection (this is huge), MS-Office 2007 and a few other programs - and only about 75% full on a 128GB Samsung SSD.

On mine, I have a a few more programs loaded - about 50% full on a 250GB Samsung SSD.

On both machines - we have all data files (documents, music, videos, pictures, etc) and a few programs on the HDD.

I know how to do that. You misinterpret what I'm saying. For example, I want to use Sony Vegas Pro on SSD so its faster. But I want to render and save projects onto my HDD instead, is that possible?

Yes - just save your projects to the HDD. Most programs have a default save location or remember the last save location. Saving them to a different hard drive is not a problem.

Sure. Somewhere in the preferences for that, it will allow you to designate 'where'.
