I have had my computer for a few weeks and Ethernet has never worked. I've been using a USB wifi adapter to connect to the internet. It does connect, but it's not very fast. I tried Ethernet again and it still says invalid Ip. I've tried a couple different things, but no solutions seem to be a permanent fix. Does anyone know any solutions?

More about : invalid ethernet

with your computer connected via ethernet, open the command prompt (or run "cmd" without the quotes from the run menu) and enter the following command, without quotes:

"ipconfig /all"

copy and paste the output here.

Okay, looks like you're not getting a DHCP assigned address and it's falling back to the default Windows addressing, which is why things aren't working. You'll need to adjust your router's settings to make sure DHCP is enabled and configured correctly.
