I'm looking to but a new Graphics Card, an EVGA GTX 760 or 770, but I have the very primitive Intel HD Graphics, and I need a guideline for how my computer (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883103639) can run/fit the card in my PC with a very smooth final outcome. Any help?

Solution
The graphics card you choose has to fit in your case and be reliably powered by your power supply.

A gtx760 will require a 500W psu and a 770 a 600W psu. (You can now get a 970 which performs better, costs less and use s less power than a 770)

So you'll need to measure up the space in your case and look at vga card length specs. And you'll have to get details on your power supply.

First off before getting the GPU you'll need a new case and new PSU. Your case wouldn't be able to fit the GPUs you want and even if it did you wouldn't be able to power your new card with that 300Watt PSU. How much are you looking to spend?

I don't recognise the case but i7 is right that you need to check the size of the space you have to work with.

Broadly Speaking... there are no graphics cards worth getting that I would be comfortable running on that PSU. Any upgrade I would recommend will require a new 500+watt good quality PSU to replace yours.

I want to try to stick to the case that I have right now because the idea of putting the body in new skin seems a bit newfangled (to me) and kind of difficult. As far as I'm concerned, the graphics and PSU is all I'm targeting.

I had to do the same thing as I used to own this hunk of junk

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03152381&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

But trust me it's not hard and eventually after doing a single small upgrade I made an entire build on my own later. The experience helped me out a lot. You should go for it.

I know my supply is a meager 300 Watts, needs to be replaced, but (call me an idiot) I can't "exactly" find the Intel HD Card inside my PC because I don't have a reference picture.

Intel HD graphics are on the CPU and don't worry we were all newbies at some point. :)

What cheap, no-glamour cases do you recommend, and how do I install the card if the current one relies on the CPU?

The Intel Graphics are on your CPU i.e they're one and the same in a sense. And as far as cases go

This one goes for $70 and very user friendly if you need a lower priced case though let me know and I'll see what I can find.

^This is actually a really good choice of case. I was recently considering it for my new build but I've gone a bit greedy in my old age (27) and my stupidly expensive components outstripped its usefulness.

Comes with three Fans pre-installed. Spacious for a mid tower. For less than 10 bones more you can get one in fire orange which makes it go faster!

Yes and the strategically placed arrow indents also make it go much faster.
