So after opening up my fiancee's Acer Aspire 5733z to clean out the fan the network adapter seems to have lost all strength. While I can get 5 bars on my Asus her Acer is only able to get one half the time and the other half it cant get anything. So I've uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter through device manager in that has been to no avail. And the drivers are up to date...according to windows anyway.

Where the actual wifi card is next to the hard-drive? From what I could see it looks fine.

What make and model wifi card?

Try pulling it out and putting it back in again (power off of course)

Those tiny connectors where the antenna wires clip on to the card are easily pulled off by a vacuum cleaner. If you press gently on them, you may feel a slight movement and see an improvement in signal.

The card is an Atheros AR5B125 . Using this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL5W1Fnr0ek (the set up on the 5733z was identical) I detached the wire from the card, unscrewed the card, removed it, put it back in, rescrewed and retached the wire. No improvement in signal.

Any sign of disconnection at the other end or squeezing somewhere in between? You might need to take out the screen so it could be easier and less expensive to buy a USB wireless dongle.
