Hi Guys,

I was thinking of upgrading some of my specs and I need your recommendations, here are my pc parts:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-DS2
GPU: PowerColor HD7750 1GB GDDR5
CPU: AMD A6-5400K Trinity Dual-Core 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 65W Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7540D
RAM: 4GB

I think my build is like a mid-end PC, and I need some recommendations specially for the GPU for a better gaming build. Thanks Guys!

Solution

I recommend a 750k or 760k since your motherboard can support it. The FM2 line is really short in upgrading so the 760k is the highest you can get. Get a r9 270x, there will be bottleneck, but it wont be that bad and it would atleast be better than what you have, get a 2x4...

I don't see any worthy upgrade here....seriously, that CPU Socket is outdated, the GPU is the best your CPU won't bottleneck, maybe 8 gigs of RAM but that won't do much, morel ike a PC Upgrade i would recommend a PC replacement of CPU/GPU/MOBO, i would wait until your rig is obsolete (as in can't play games at 60 fps in desirable settings) and change it, how much would your budget be? (if i had to predict your rig will be completely obsolete in some months, reason being your dual core CPU, the HD 7750 Will be the longest living part of the 4)

That is all i can pretty much help you with :D

Wouldn't it be better to save up and upgrade the whole thing? the FX line performs better, especially with that GPU

Both FM2+ and AM3+ were released practically same year in 2011. So both are pretty much old XD.... AM3+ and FM2+ are both on the end of their ropes... hope the new architectures will be sweet.

It sorely depends on his budget, if he cannot afford to upgrade the whole thing let him get what he can that he can work with. The FX line is also pretty much on the end of their line to. The GTX 980 is bottlenecked with the FX 8350 so the cards are becoming more advanced. I say he upgrades what he can now and then upgrade to a newer architecture down the line.

Yea I know, but hey instead of Pay like 400 dollars total for a new Rig that is already becoming obsolete he can just pay like 200 and then upgrade to the newer one later :p
