Mouse disconnecting and reconnecting

Hello everyone,

I kinda wanted to write this a long time ago, but didn't want to make another thread on it, until I discovered that it's simpler to explain just explain the whole problem without searching anything.

Mice are acting weird on my computer. The computer is not quite good, as is the mouse, but this shouldn't happen - at random times my mouse just stops. Windows stops recognizing it ("USB device not recognized"), and sometimes it re-plugs itself after a few seconds, or I have to replug it manually. Sometimes that doesn't even help, I have to hit the mouse. Sometimes it just lags for half a second. It's very unpredictable, I can't find the cause of it; it often happens when I move the mouse rapidly, but when I'm testing it, it doesn't happen. It most often happens in video games, when I use the mouse a lot, but it has happened while browsing 'n stuff.

The reason I actually got a new mouse like a year or two ago because that one was doing the same thing, but this new mouse didn't last as long. Am I buying shitty mouses, or is my USB port faulty? My keyboard never does that, nor my other devices, only the mouse in every port. And, if the mouse is the fault of this, is a LT M500 mouse good enough so it would stop doing that?

P.S. sorry for the wrong category, didn't see "Computer Peripherals", sorry for that :)

Solution
Try using another mouse one of your friend and as far as about dpi thing the more dpi your mouse have more responsive your mouse will be dpi thing is can be experince well in some First Person shooter game if you move your mouse a little bit you player will turn more on more dpi. it's for gaming to get quick responses. If you are not a gamer then 1000 dpi will be fine for genera use for gaming your mouse must have 3000+ dpi

You can try re-installing driver of mouse this might help.
If it doesn't help try another mouse (friend's).Same thing was with my keyboard I changed it and everything become normal. The dpi of Logitech M500 is 1000 too low.

I have tried everything from reinstalling the drivers to turning off of "USB hub sleeping", and it didn't help. BTW What is DPI important for?

OK I will find someone's mouse to test with. BTW, people say that the sensitivity must be low for gaming for precise movements, so shouldn't I be looking for less dpi?

Thank you btw I used my sister's mouse and it seems that the problem is the mouse's cable and the mouse itself. As I raged more and more I was hitting it :)D) more and more and it got worse and worse. Now, until I get a new mouse and my sister comes back, I'm using her mouse and it's beautiful. Not made for gaming, but works.
