I would use Ethernet it's faster and more reliable, but if you need to be mobile with the laptop use wireless, you need to download the drivers for the wireless card for it to be able to work, the manufacture should have a designated download page for it: http://www.rosewill.com/products/1171/ProductDetail_Dow...

Chromebook things are very specialized devices that you can't do a lot with. They run a very stripped down OS that does not have support for many devices including external wireless cards. It is said to be a linux based system deep down inside but you would have to dig to find non standard copies of this OS that someone had modified to support other things.

These devices include internal wireless card that you should be able to just configure to use your wireless. There are a number of models so you are best off following the manual for this machine to tell you how to configure it for your router.

Why can't you use a wireless router. It has a built in wireless card.

I'm lost. What, precisely, are you attempting to do?

The "wireless router" you mentioned in the first post is an external USB2.0 WiFi adapter. There's a built-in adapter inside the Chromebook that shouldn't need configuring.

You'll need an existing actual WiFi router (or access point) attached to your broadband connection somewhere else in the house, though.
