I want to crossfire two AMD R9 290Xs and as everyone knows they produce a lot of heat. But what i wanted to know is if I mount one in the FIRST graphics slot, SKIP A SLOT and mount another in the THIRD slot and crossfire them will it run the same as mounting each one in a slot right after another. and my reason for this is that I have a side panel fan and i want to get air in between them for better cooling.

Some of that answer depends on your motherboard. Assuming you have a Z87, Z97 or H97 mobo, typically you want to put them in the first and second slots. The third slot is typically a slower slot in today's mobo designs, but your manual should tell you for sure.
