Is a full-sized board necessary/recommended for this build, or can I stick with the micro?

Here is the build. At the moment I've added the H97M because it was available for a good price on Amazon and I also have Prime, so I can save on the shipping costs. My question is whether or not this is going to be a disadvantage for me. I'm not too knowledgable on motherboards, but if I'm only intending on keeping one GPU in the build and the listed RAM, do I really need a full-sized board?

You don't NEED it but with this build I would go with it.
