I have just finished a build for a friend`s birthday. When i first powered on the computer the power supply was on the off switch. I did not notice this and pressed the power button the PC started up for a second then turned off. I changed the power supply switch to on pressed the power button. The PC powers on but there is nothing appearing on the monitor nor is the monitor powering on when the PC is on (it stays on stand by). Did I just F-up the computer.

The case fans,CPU fan, hard drive and optical drive all power on.I have tried every monitor in my house (4) with and without the graphics card installed. I have tried RAM from my Personal Build and each Ram slot on the Motherboard.I have checked all cables.
any help is appreciated
PC Specs
i5-4590
ASRock H87M-PRO4
8gb RAM ddr3
Gigabyte R9 280
1tb Hard Drive
500W Power Supply

Solution
It is supported but the BIOS on the mobo when you buy it has to support the CPU.

Otherwise you'll have to install a lower spec CPU (that the BIOS on the mobo supports) flash it. Then put the I5-4590 back on the mobo. Then it'll work

yes but I have tested it previously with a 500w power supply and it works fine.

Does the BIOS on the mobo support the CPU?? According to the Asrock site you need P2 of the BIOS. For it to support that CPU

1150 Core i5 i5-4590 (C0) Haswell-R 3.3GHz 6MB 84W P2.00

If it doesnt have this update on it, it wont turn on or boot

I would say, since you've tried the onboard and the card, the above maybe the prob

I unplug every cable and plugged them back in twice. Although something else has occurred while replying. The computer restated itself after a few moments.

Before this build was complete I had a problem with an Asus H81M-Plus when using it with the i5 4590 but it at lest posted and went to the bios. the problem with that broad was it wouldn`t install windows. when I returned the Asus broad the guy said that the i5 4590 was supported by the ASrock and showed me from his computer so i got I really hope that is not the problem.
