Access Point Advice

Hi,
even if I read the above HowTo threads, I only wish, with this question, to have a opinion on what device category to choose as the most appropriate one for my need.

I live in a small house with two floors. On basement I have a small office with my Telco ADSL line. Here I use an existing modem/router “Linksys X2000”. On the first floor I need Wi-Fi access to the Internet and decided to introduce an Access Point to be connected to my existing Linksys modem. Linksys only makes one AP model and am not so happy about few hardware features I find present in existing Routers one being not simultaneous dual link 2.4 and 5GHz.
I am choosing between these two models: WAP300N (being the AP) and E2500 (being a Wi-Fi Router). The cost difference is minimal.

The advantage of WAP300N is that it has external antennas but do not know the dB. Moreover, I do not believe I need external antennas because there are not so much wall interferences on the floor.
The advantage of E2500 is that is simultaneous dual band and uses MIMO technology. So the antennas are inside and it looks nicer for aesthetics.

For this project I wish to consider Linksys as the only brand. But, for future reference, if you wish you can also refer me to an alternative brand name for AP device. I tried TP-Link but the signal is weak even if it has two external antennas.

Thanks for the advice.
