Okay so I have £650 too spend on a PC but I already have ram and a hard drive and an optical bay but I need everything els so I was thinking of getting a i5 4690k and r9 290 vapor-x but now the 970 is out I guess I'll get that instead but what would YOU buy for £650

I would get the 970 with whatever CPU you can afford. If overclocking get a z97 and an i5k if not over clocking get the 4460 and a h87 OR a Xeon 1230 v3 if you can stretch to it (its like a 4770) dont go crazy on the motherboard, something like a gigabyte hd3 or ds3h will do just fine unless you expect silly over clocks
