Long time lurker, first time poster
Hello everyone!

I don't like my motherboard so I am looking to go from mini to full size. This will be the first time I build a pc myself. I have looked over the current offerings and they are not plenty. So right now its between the Gigabyte UD3H and Asus P8P77 V. But I am wondering if I could save a bit of money and go with a cheaper model for what I need.

CPU - 2500k ( I wouldn't push it past 4.5-4.6 )
using Thermaltake Frio
GPU - Max of 2x 970s
Case - Don't know if it matters but probably around 6 fans
Power Supply - Antec 750W Truepower
Ram - Haven't decided on this yet, worried about large heatsinks hitting the Frio. Going for 16gb
SSD - Currenty have 1 but will probably buy another.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Amazon and Newegg. The two I mentioned in my OP are the key ones I was deciding on, but if I can save some money by say, going with the P8Z77 V LK and save $40.

The extreme4 is $160 on amazon and not available on newegg

Are there other places I should be looking for available boards? The selection is extremely limited on amazon and newegg. The extreme6 isnt too bad on newegg but I haven't experienced having to go through them for a bad product. How are the returns on motherboards through them? Will I have an issue?

I almost wonder if I am wasting my time upgrading my motherboard. Are these boards just being discontinued?
