Lowering resolution does not increase fps.

Somehow if I lower my resolution my fps does not increase at all , infact in many cases it decreases. This is especially annoying in games like Dayz a game were i really need the extra frames

Do you know what the problem could be.


here are my PC specs

Fx 6300 @ 3.5GHz
Sapphire Radeon HD 7770
8GB of 1333Mhz Crucial Ram
Seagate 1TB hardrive

And my monitor is the LG 22EA53 that is 1080p

When you're running the game, open task manager to let it record your CPU history. Also download GPUZ and set it to record your graphics card load. If there's a single core of your cpu that's constantly on 100%, and your GPU can not reach its full potential, you're experiencing a CPU bottleneck.

If this is not the case, we'll keep on looking.
