So... I was having problems with my laptop, and at some point I had a message when booting asking me if I wanted to Refresh Windows (windows 8.1) It said that I wouldn't lose any of my files etc.. But when it finished it only boots to BIOS, what's happened? Do you know any case like this?

Hello sensir,
Try one last thing before re-installing Windows: Try to unplug the power cord connected to your desktop after shutting down properly, and press the power button 3 times, then plugging the power cord back in. If you have a laptop, take the power cord and battery out and do the same thing.

I would suggest you consult a tech store such as Best Buy, Future Shop, etc, before buying an expensive version of the retail version of Windows.
The stores won't charge you if you are only asking if they can fix this problem, so that would be good.
