will 1.5 mbps be good enough for downloading?

hi guys am getting a new unlimited internet for $50 per month
its a 1.5mbps connection and around 50 ping
will this be good enough to download large files from steam and be able to stream movies from netflix?

1.5 mbps is a pretty slow download speed, I would recommend you do some research and call some ISPs in your area and ask about their special deals/promotions.

Since you mentioned Steam, I would recommend you take a peek at this: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9498-WPDF-3220

The Steam download speed depends highly on what your ISP gives you, and if you're playing online games, 50 ping might come in your way.

Streaming Netflix would be in SD and constantly buffering if not impossible. I personally would not be able to stand it.

As a fellow 1.5mb DSL user im here to say Netflix streams around 720p just fine with a few drops to SD when the network bogs down. 50ms ping is good for games though. Around 100ms is when it starts getting bad. Its take around 15 Hours for me to download a game (BF3)
