Switching between HDMI and VGA

Hi guys,

New here! Forgive me if this question has been asked and if it a straightforward thing.

Basically in my study, I connect my laptop to my monitor through the VGA port and I sometimes connect it to my TV through HDMI.

Currently, I just take out one wire and put in another depending on whether I am using the TV or the monitor.

My question is, is there a switch available whereby I can connect both wires to my laptop and just press something which will toggle between the HDMI and VGA.

Gosh I hope that made sense!

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Ronald.

Hopefully these options are available to you.

Open Catalyst Control Center.
Near the top-right corner, see if you have a button labelled, "Preferences". If so, click it and from the drop-down menu, select Hotkeys.
In the Hotkey Manager, make sure "Enable Hotkeys Feature" is selected.
Under List Hotkeys For... click the drop down menu and select, "Creating and Arranging Desktops".

From here, you'll probably want to set up some combination of Switch Amongst Displays or Swap Display Mapping and Disable all non-primary displays.

If there isn't enough physical room to plug in both connectors, control centre settings are not going to help you.
Would different cables help with less bulky plugs?
Other than that you would have to use a video splitter but this would have to be VGA or HDMI, not both.
