Hi there , during the installation of water cooling system why we have to Disconnect the 24-pin cable from your motherboard, and connect the green wire to the black wire using a paper clip ?

How the motherboard can get the power from psu without the 24pin is connected .

I saw the video here http://youtu.be/Dk3V64ZSsEI

I haven't looked at the video, but I suspect that this is during the period that you want to fill the water cooling loop.

So you have to be able to run the pumps without powering on any components that need cooling.

And the only way to power on a PSU without powering the motherboard is to use the paperclip method and to do that you need access to the 24-pin plug.

@karsten75 after The setup is done , I should re plug it back to motherboard?

And this step I should do this everytime when refilling water ?

It's not 100% necessary, I typically just unplug my hard drives when I am filling the loop that way I can just power off the system and it's really not going to hurt anything to turn it off during post. And your CPU isn't going to build up enough heat to do any damage in the 2 to 3 seconds it takes to nearly drain your reservoir.

For filling a loop and leak testing you'd rather disconnect and jump the 24-pin connector (green to black) and allow it to run to leak test. While this isn't a requirement, it can make it a bit easier if you aren't familiar with the process.
