Just finished a new PC build.

ASRock fatality z97 killer
i5 4590
Sapphire AMD R9 270

PC is connected via cat5 to a router.
At first the internet connection runs fine with no issues but after awhile of being up and running it still shows it's connected but any online games will lag and disconnect out and web pages won't load.

Restarting the PC puts it through the whole process again where it works for awhile and then bugs out.

I am not the most knowledgeable in this area so any help would be great

Are other devices on the network experiencing the same problems or is it just your PC?

Approximately how long before you have the issues with the internet speed?

What is your ISP - and router make/model #?

I have tried restarting router and tried using a different Ethernet cord. I have another PC hooked to the router that works fine as well as laptops that run fine.

As for the router it's a linksys e2500.

And for the time till it happens. Seems to be anywhere from 30-60 min in.

I have an ASROCK mobo that came with advanced "wave shaping" network utilities - this software tries to prioritize network traffic on the PC. The end result is it slowed down my internet connection - after removing the software - it worked a lot better (full speed ahead at that point).

Next time the internet "craps out" on you, go to a command prompt and type:

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

And see if that helps. (2 different commands).

Try running a speedtest from speedtest.net upon fresh start up. When you start to see performance degradation run the same test on the same speed test server. This will help you indicate if you are seeing true network issues or if other factors are coming into play. Try running the same test on another PC to see if your broadband connection is being affected or if it is just your PC. Alot of that network software can interfere also. You haven't provided enough information to determine the cause but if you run those tests it can point you in the right direction.
