Graphics card crashing

When playing cs go the game crashed and to start it was a colour screen fuzzing but i could still hear the game then it went to a black screen but i could still hear the game. i was unable to go into task manager so i had to turn the pc off holding the power button if you have any ideas on how to fix this it would be a great help

can be two issue with gpu and pc. one is the gpu fan did not spin up to max speed to cool the gpu or the gpu is a entry level gpu and was stressed to far. the other issues is a weak power supply that not holding or is rippling out. with the first heat issue try using msi afterburner and set the fans of the gpu to max out at 50c. then try running the game and watch your gpu temps if they get to hot tab out of the game. if the gpu is keeping cool and the game locks up again see if someone has another power supply you can use for testing.
