Not really sure what's happening here. Going from 100 fps on all my games to 0-13 fps on minecraft. I keep getting reports of high CPU usage on simple things like Google Chrome and Skype. Still says my graphics card is working and have all my drivers updated. Would like to know what's going on since this is an $1100 build. Also getting random periodic shutdowns, don't know what that has to do with all this, maybe the power supply? This all stated happening about 2 weeks ago and had this computer since January.

Build
CPU: Intel i5-3570k
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 2 gb
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600 mh
Power supply: Cosair CXM 600W
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
Windows 7 ultimate edition 64 bit

do a few things..run malware bytes..hitman pro see if there anything that installed that should not be. on your gpu run msi afterburner check the gpu fan buy maxing it out in msi software see if you hear it spin up. if it spins up set a new fan profile to max the fan out at lower temp and see if the fps goes up. if it not a heat issue the last is weak or unclean power.

I would suspect your PSU, with that particular model I have 2 friends that had very similar issues with the computer shutting down randomly. When they both bought different models it fixed the issue. If you can try a different one to see if that helps.

Wait so your saying the random shutdowns are the power supplys fault, then what explains the fps drops and overstressing on the cpu?

Used msi and found that all 4 cores of the CPUwere at 105 degrees C and using max processing power while the gpu was function at 36 degrees C at about 30%. Tried doing a full scan with Norton afterwords and the computer shutdown. Replying to you on my phone.
