I built my computer about a year ago, and it has been working fine. However, it recently started freezing when watching videos online, forcing a manual restart.

This does not happen while playing games or watching videos saved to the hard drive.
I have tried reinstalling Chrome and reinstalling Flash.
I've tried Firefox and Opera.
I've tried updating my drivers and reinstalling my drivers.
I've disabled hardware acceleration in Chrome and disabled Enforce Smooth Video Playback in Catalyst Control Center.

A couple of times, I had the task manager and Sapphire Trixx open while it froze. Nothing was at or even close to 100%, and the temperature was under 40 C.

I've run full scans and cleans with multiple applications.

It's gotten to the point where I honestly am considering getting a new gpu, just so I won't have to deal with this stupid problem (It's around time to upgrade anyway). Here are my specs:

Gigabyte AM3+ AMD Motherboard GA-970A-UD3P

AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core

AMD Radeon HD 7770

Toshiba 3.5-Inch 1TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive DT01ACA100

2 x 4gb Crucial Ballistix Sport RAM

Corsair CX500M

TP-LINK 300Mbps Wireless N Adapter

Windows 8.1 x64 Full

Solution
I have a feeling its not your gpu as it plays games and videos on the hd. It could be a problem with video encoder of the browser. I don't know the exact solution to this so you may have to ask other people that have had this problem

You're right, in fact it's nothing to do with my setup. I realized it's because I'm on a very low speed wifi connection right now, and it's only been crashing since my family got a new router. Thanks for the suggestion
