When you pay for a $150+ mobo your paying for extra features and for it to look pretty. Nothing wrong with that I have a pretty good mobo my self but you won't notice a notable FPS difference as little as 2-3 FPS. Just make the mobo is compatible with your CPU and everything else and you'll be fine.

Just a follow up question.

I am planning to build another gaming PC for my brother...

And my current PC build is:
cpu, i5 4570
gpu, r9 270x
ram, 2x4gb
mobo, Gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3
hdd, WDC Blue 1TB
psu, Seasonic S12II 520W 80PLUS Bronze
atx, Cougar spike

And I was planning this for him:

cpu, Intel Pentium G3258 3.20GHz (Dual Core)
mobo, Gigabyte GA-H97M-Gaming 3
ram, Kingston HyperX Fury 4gb 4gbx1 DDR3 1600 CL10
hdd, WDC Blue 1TB
gpu, SAPPHIRE R7 260X 2GB GDDR5 128BIT OC
psu, Corsair VS450
atx, Cooler Master Elite 110 mini cube Compact Case

I chose a higher mobo for him, coz i plan to swap my mobo to him and get the new. So anyway is this a good build anyway, or so you can add some suggestions?

Thanks

The Intel Pentium will slightly bottle neck the GPU but you could just overclock that and it'll be fine. I'm guessing he's just gonna playing minecraft right? Other that your PSU looks lacking if I remember the minimum requirement for R7 260 is a 600 watt PSU.

And that would be my problem. As i dunno how to overclock. As for the PSU i dunno, but its been a year since i have this setup, and also im not fully aware that 600watt was the required watt for my gpu.

And if i will (will learn how) overclock the intel pentium, what would be the best clock speed settings btw?

You'll be able to find a stable overclock for your chip and guides on how to all over the internet when time comes. And I don't know what you mean by fully aware of the PSU?

I thought u were pointing on my r9 270x...
But on r7 260x i haven't search for that requirements yet. So thanks anyway

(edit)
I just searched it, and they said at least 450w would be fine... Well Thanks again

Because it supports the components you listed , the H97 is a newer release , you only mentioned one card so the Micro board is a great fit
