Hi. My PC has these 5 short beeps when I turn it on and no display when using the graphics card via a DVI-VGA adapter. I tried the onboard and it did not beep and booted fine. Sometimes after a couple restarts and beeps, the PC boots fine with GPU. I don't know if it's the processor or GPU or what anymore. At first I thought it was a processor error but I just bought it a few weeks ago and it was working fine then. Also according to ASROCK website, 5 beeps is not a processor error but a no vga card error. The processor is an APU so I'm not sure how to switch the primary display adapter. I read other threads that said the port was the problem. But I can't test the other DVI and mini HMDI ports because the stores don't have any adapters. :/ Any help is appreciated. Thanks. :)

PC Specs:
Motherboard: ASROCK FM2A55M-VG3+
CPU: A6-6400K APU with Radeon™ HD 8470D Black Edition
GPU: EVGA GTX 650 1GB
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit
RAM: 4GB DDR3 (1 stick)
PSU: ThermalTake TR2 600W
HDD: Toshiba 500 GB SATA

Solution
Yes, the five beeps is the motherboard telling you that it is having problems with the video card.

The big question is what power supply are you running? The GTX 650 draws a fair amount of power and has a 6 pin PCIE power plug. Hopefully you have connected that plug (it is necessary).

smorizio is a faster typist than me (and has a neat profile pic). :)

Hi. Yesterday I updated the BIOS from 1.60 to 2.00 and it still beeped. I am also using a 600W PSU.

Hi. Yes, I the power cable is connected to the card. I'm using a ThermalTake TR2 600W.

Hmmm...according to the power supply tier list, that power supply is rated at Tier 5 - the do not run it (except to run away from it) level.

You should check out the power supply unit tier list yourself at:

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

I would recommend a much better power supply.

An acceptable (but only Tier 3) option, would be the EVGA 600 B unit that is currently $60 but also has a $20 mail in rebate at NewEgg:

Do they ship internationally? I don't live in USA. :/

Well, they would - but that is expensive. You can just look up the make and model number ( EVGA 600 B ) at a computer site for your country. I can look it up if you are in England or another EU country - but many other countries like India and Madagascar aren't as easy.

Ah, well I live in the Caribbean. Argh! :l

Never mind - they don't ship to the Carribean. I couldn't find a site that does, actually.

You could always send a list of power supplies that you can get locally and it would be easy enough to find one that should work well. You don't need a 600 watt power supply to run your system as it currently is, by the way.

Well there are really only 2 popular stores that I know of. One only has a generic PSU with short cables and the other has only ThermalTake in different watts. It was quite a pain to find a good PSU here. They don't really cater for the gamers. :c

Well, the Thermaltake Toughpower series is okay. The 650 watt model would probably be the best option for you, as it is made of better components than the lower wattage ones. The model for that unit is TPD-0650M and it should work great. If they don't have it, then the TPD-0550M would work okay. There are also more expensive ones that will work too, here are some of their model numbers:

TPD-0750M
TPG-0650M
TPG-0550DPCG
TPG-0750M
TPG-0850M

Good luck!
