Can I use my current power supply with a gtx 970?

AMD R9 270 (Slightly Overclocked)
AMD FX-8350 @4.0ghz
500GB SATA III 6GBS/S 7200RPM 16MB CACHE HD
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P AM3+ Crossfire USB3.0 SATA 3
8GIGS Of Ram DDR3 1866MHZ
650 Watt Gold Certified PSU
Could I use my current power supply with a gtx 970? Please when you give an answer, give it with the thought of all my parts on max load (For best measurement)

What brand/model is the psu exactly? Sounds like a good enough of a unit but i want to be sure. Your system would probably take 450-550W out of the socket.

The minimum for the gtx 970 is 500 watts, I think that would be good. But to be on the safe side you should get a 800 watt

Yes it will be fine 270 and 970 use similar power.

It will be something like this
CPU 125
Gpu 145
Mobo 45
Hdd 10
Fans 10

So no more than 350w in use

Another quick question, when specs for let's say, the 970 say 2x6 pin, does it mean 2 six pin connectors?

Quite sure there is no need for an upgrade on the psu. It's a quality unit. And yes, 2 6-pin connectors.
